Now is a good time to become a landlord, says property expert

Head of consulting at property investment consultancy Ducalian Tim Lambert has claimed that "now is a good time" to get involved in the sector, due to "considerable" rent demand.

He pointed out that for the majority of consumers looking for somewhere to live, renting is the most sensible option for them at the moment.

Mr Lambert's comments were made in response to a question about whether buying or renting is more expensive.He warned: "Buying may look attractive now, but it may not be the case in three or four years and buyers need to be aware of what they may be paying then, not just what they are paying now."
